Does anyone know what would cause the steering wheel to be crooked while the vehicle is going straight? Yesterday I put my frankenlift on and was messing around with the rack and pinion, tryin to find a way to change the p/s insulator bushings. I took out the two bolts and moved it around a little trying to see if I could easily get the bushings out. I ended up just bolting it back up until I change the entire rack since the pinion seal is leaking anyway. So, I drove it after the lift install and everything seems to be fine except my steering wheel is slightly crooked. The vehicle seems to drive straight as an arrow with no bump steer as far as I can tell. What do you think it could be? Where should I start? Got my alignment scheduled for tomorrow, but I aint toosure if it will correct the problem. Thanks for the help, pics to come of my new franky also |

meh_kick and 1996xj had this problem about a month ago after one of our ohio meet and greets. Might PM Meh_kick for his solution. I never did hear what came of it. |

They will straighten the steering wheel as part of the alignment. |

Most likely the tie rod ends moved in the rack when you were moving it around. You can adjust them back if you know how. Or have an alignment and they will do it during that process. KJKev |

Vut's vith all ze shouting!! Okay, so maybe I jumped the gun again. Sorry, alot of these things are firsts for me. The alignment shop did say they would take care of it. I did do my frankenlift all by myself this time though. So, I will pat myself on the back fer that one. Thanks for responding. Its nice to get a few opinions. |

tommudd wrote: Congrats on doing the Franky by yourself!!!! Good job! Proud of you! Yeah, I used the ratchet straps on the front and it worked like a charm!! I had the front done in less than half an hour with hand tools alone. Then on the back, I broke my stock scissor jack and had to borrow another... The OME shocks didnt fit in the upper mounts too well and took alot of persuasion with the crowbar to get them in. Wondered why it was such a tight fit?? Thanks for all the help everyone |

Just a heads up they probably won't be able to get it perfect after a lift is installed. Just one of those things you gotta deal with now |

I'm running a rear daystar spacer with my rear franky springs (Old Man Emu BTW). With 3 conudit nuts up front the rear sits exactly 1/2" higher than the front. |

I didnt know they were the OME's.. What the heck makes it a frankenlift if all the parts seem to be OME? So, you ever have any problems with this setup? I may keep mine they way it is, I like it, just need to get some 255's on there next time. It oughta look real nice |

I realized that after the daystar.. That lead to the whole "tire pull" incident, and thats why my rear tires are at 40% and my fronts look brand new with only 7k miles on them. |
