You will need front struts for another 190/200. So for the same amount of money you have OME springs/ Rancho which are higher rated

Those springs are the same rating as stock, not much of an upgrade, well thats my opinion

The springs are actually BDS, which has a rating ever so slightly more than OME. Someone here ordered the kit from 4WD, and the whole kit is actually BDS. I guess 4WD bought the rights or something.

But yes new front struts are recommended. I didn't get them for lack of $, poor college student. It's definately manageable, but not ideal. Everything else about it is awesome.

Edit: If you want this kit, go to BDS.com and have it shipped to your closest dealer for free. That $25 shipping charge 4WD charges is pretty high. Your local BDS distributer might be able to get it for cheaper also, just go on BDS to find them, and give them a call. Saved me some money there.

I can state that the official line from 4wd is that their kit and the BDS kit are "very similar"...
you should be able to snag a discount via forum membership or membership in most Jeep clubs. In past I've found that the discount paid for the shipping plus a bit, which made things pretty okay. They also price match, so there's no harm in working as many avenues as possible.

i just bought this kit from 4wd.com.... it is infact a BDS suspension setup. i went through 4wd becaus ei had a gift card to the site.

i also went alont and bought rancho struts for the front....

i will be installing the kit on the 30th of this month( only day off i have from work) and hopefully it will be worth it.

by the way i got a good deal on it.. the only thing that 4wd didnt dship to me were the rubber boots... but i called them up and they shipped them out free to me... 2 days later i got them in the mail

The picture 4WD has is identical to the BDS kit colors and all, except for the shocks. But as mrneen said, they ship BDS including shocks I'm assuming. Not sure about the whole 4WD picture on them, bought the rights like I said is my best guess. I don't know much about all of that business mumbo jumbo.

4 Wheel Drive Hardware is sort of an interesting case... given that their website 4wd.com is worth gold as a name alone, it is not surprising that a company like 4 Wheel Parts would purchase the company... the surprise is that they've been allowed to continue existence as a sem-separate entity, continuing the fairly long tradition of small Jeep-oriented shop that they always were. The deal with BDS goes back prior to the buyout by 4 Wheel Parts. 4WD has always had a private label line of items for sale, usually at a "deal" price. Not knowing details of how that contract works, I couldn't guess at the inner workings, but I'm sure it guarantees them some sort of cut off the regular wholesaler price. If it didn't, Sears wouldn't have been doing Kenmore since time immemorial.

That is something that I had no idea about, great clarification. However it might have come about, the 4WD KJ kit = BDS, exactly. You sure displayed some knowledge on the subject tomsjeep 8) .
