I am trying to understand how the spring loaded T-case works while in Part Time or true four wheel drive on this T-case. I know that the spring releases the front end from the rear while in the full-time mode, but when in part time does the T-case lock out that spring or is that spring / plastic fork still in use? Does anyone know. |

Far as I know the only time it isnt used is when going to 4low. I know mine has gotten stuck in part time when going back to 2wd from full time. If you want, you can lift one of the front wheels and play around with it. Its really easy to hear and feel when it goes in and out of 4wd. Shift it to part time then try to turn the tire. You should hear it pop right in(given its quiet out). Do the same going into and out of full time. Its pretty neat, I enjoyed it, haha. |

I had the spring fail to engage 4 low and 4 part time 4 high full time - did not have a problem (I killed a tire and only replaced 2 so there was a wear mismatch) |
