I have a Tom Wood's driveshaft on my 02' Liberty. This is an awesome drive shaft but I have a question for others that have front driveshafts from other manufacturers. The differential side of the shaft has a single cardon joint and the transfer case side has two cardan joints and a ball (typical CV setup). While its a real smooth running shaft, I wonder if the CV side is needed. Do any of you run a front driveshaft with just a single cardan (u-joint) on each end? To service this shaft, I have to remove it each time because the transmission crossmember is in the way and there is no possible way to get to all the grease zerks on the TC side. If you are running a shaft with just one u-joint on each end, is it smooth running, no vibrations? Enlighten me :D

Thanks, Ron

You need to read this article and look at the pics to choose what type of driveshaft is needed, either a single u-joint on both ends or a single u-joint/CV joint driveshaft. The article in the link below explains why one style works when the other will not.
