I am certain this has been up before, but what bulbs do y'all use to replace factory headlight bulbs? And, do bulbs really dim with age and appreciable amount? |

That just started happening to me last week. I've had the Silverstars on since February and last week for the first time someone flashed their brights at me. I was thinking are you kidding me? |

I ordered HID's for both the fog lights and headlights. http://www.buyhidkits.com Fogs are on and BRIGHT!! Headlights are enroute. They were less than 100 bux shipped each. 9007 = headlights 9145 = foglights I've had the fogs fully submerged in water and they still work |

Absolutely, they do. Some more than others. But the OEM bulbs will dim a lot. Mine did anyway. |

Which PIAA's do you use chris? I like the Silverstars I have, but they could be brighter. right now I'm working on a way to adapt the libby's harness to accept H4s so I can run IPF Fatboys |

Had the Silverstars, loved them but they burned out after 8 months. Switched to the PIAA's, just as good, $105/pr but lasted 2 years. Just switched to the Silverstar Ultras, and I have to admit I'm not that impressed for the extra cost ($60/pr). I'm looking for the super bright blue bulbs, but I'm not sure what brand or model these are. I was driving in the early morning in the dark on the highway and was passed by a car running these bulbs. The super blue light from this car completely out-shined the light put out by my Ultras. Any ideas? |

GE Nighthawk is in mine. Blueish, bright, not sure they qualify as superbright... but they are an improvement. I wasn't so happy with the Silverstars, they just didn't seem like they were any brighter. |

I'm running the Wagner Tru-view headlights. They present a clear "true view" at night, and ZERO glare - for you AND the oncoming motorists. They're not cheap either - Unless you know "a guy". |

As already posted, get 8000 - 10,000K HID's to get the blue color. For the prices you guys are talking for normal headlights, just get the HID's. If they last me a year I'd say I got my monies worth. |

I chose to go with Nokya Artic White lamps. They aren't actually brighter than the stock lamps but they simply look brighter because of the bluish tint to the light. It's next to impossible to show from a picture but compared to the yellowish tint of stock bulbs its night & day. I've replaced my headlight, foglamp & Hella700FF lamps for Nokya Artic White lamps You should be able to find them at your local automotive store. http://www.coolbulbs.com/nokya.asp# |

This is a very useful site about automotive lighting that may be of interest, especially concerning the HID retrofit kits that put HID bulbs in the stock reflectors (don't) and the various coated/tinted bulbs. Its not the easiest to navigate and I can't link to the specific pages but its worth the time to peruse. http://www.danielsternlighting.com/ then go to 'tech', 'bulbs', 'hid' for the HID retrofit info. |

Sylvania silverstars here, need to upgrade my awesome fogs now. Oh and these do make about half the drivers in my area turn their brights on at me, but I just return the favor. |
