You cannot bang it flat down...to the inside is the easiest...

how long do you think it will take?

Takes longer to take the tires off than to do the actual cutting, pounding over and reshaping

Pounding the pinch weld itself - does not take very long. Waiting for the primer and paint to dry - is a pain though.

I just used 2 coats of self etching primer, and 2 coats of semi-gloss black Rustoleum. I did wait for them to dry completely, as did not want to rub off the coats when folding and heat welding the plastic liner. Usually trying to quick dry the coats with a heat gun leaves them soft underneath, and can easily be rubbed through when futzing with the softened liner.

And I hate self inflicted rust.

I personally used asphalt under coating to coat and fill the void which gave a nice finish, however that was long before I stumbled across this site.

Some people here have primed and then folded the plastic back over the void and heated it up to seal it, this takes more effort then the way I did it, but it does give a nice clean finish.
