| Post subject: | Transmission Code??? |
I went wheeling at Raush Creek this past weekend. Everything was fine coming home, next morning driving it seemed as if the transmission was stuck in one gear and would not shift from what seemed be 2nd gear and started smelling like trans fluid I have and OBDIII reader and plugged it in and it said something transmission performance?? I accidently cleared the code before I wrote it down. I then drove it and now seems to shift fine, however the engine light wont go out and there are no codes, what gives? |

Recently I managed to overheat my transmission while towing a heavy trailer down an unplowed road. The "Trans Temp" indicator went away but the "Check Engine" indicator stayed on. After I checked my engine codes with a scanner I cleared them and the "Check Engine" indicator went out. I suspect that you didn't properly clear your codes. Maybe you can try a different scanner or try clearing the codes again with your scanner. Glad to hear that you didn't do any permanent damage to your transmission (that you know of). |

Check for burnt transmission fluid ,this is not good. you can verify it by looking at the dip stick for burned smell and /or discolored fluid |
