Hi all,

Is the lever supposed to have sideways movement? Normally I'd pull (kind of hard) from 2wd to 4high, n, 4 low and it would just follow the track and get there. Just had the transmission serviced and I changed fluids in both diffs. Now it goes from 2 to 4h pretty normal, n to 4 low has wiggle room side to side. Is it wrong now or was it wrong before? Gearing choices seem to work. Just curious and thanks.

Well on mine I have to move it to the right side in order to get into 4LO. As long as there isn't a lot of side-to-side play I'd say you're fine.

So it's supposed to wiggle in 4low? Guess my Jeep just got the memo. Thanks guys!

it's not a straight pull back, the gate looks similar to this

perhaps i'm not understanding what sort of wiggle you're talking about?

It was always pretty firm and would follow the gate through the gears. When it's in 2h there's minimal side to side wiggle. When it's down in 4L, it'll move side to side almost a good inch either direction. I'll try and take a video to clarify it.
