When I first bought my '06 I woundered why the rear lamp housing had a red section that never lit. I think I asked that question here, and as I recall the answer was that it must just be a design element. Today I had to replace a brake lamp and when I removed the housing I found that there was a lamp in the lower, red section. So, what's it for? Is there a European or international application? Can it be illuminated? Seems like over kill for a spare lamp holder.

yeah, the rear lights on over seas liberty have a 'rear fog light option.' Pretty neat idea I think for heavy fog and stuff.

Hummm, well folks might be interested in knowing that there is a brand new 3157 lamp in there as a spare, at least in mine there was.

Now you have me wondering about my tail lamp housing.

In case you were curious, this is what the tail lamps on a European Cherokee look like. I spotted this one in a Chrysler dealership in The Netherlands.

That 33" tire was too heavy for the stock tire carrier but I could still open the glass :?
