I just found this rear tow hitch on ebay for like $69 "brand new". What's the deal? Something wrong here? That seems really cheap. I need a rear tow hitch just for a rear recovery point. I don't really plan on towing anything.

Anyone?

eBay shipping charges are always a killer, especially here to Canada. I suppose that's how they can afford to sell stuff so cheap on eBay.

Why did they bother posting a picture of the item up for bid with the disclaimer that "ACTUAL HITCH MAY VARY SLIGHTLY FROM PHOTO, ROUND OR SQUaRE TUBE DEPENDING ON APPLICATION". Myself, I've learned not to trust eBay photography. I've been tricked a couple of times.

If you pay via PayPal I suppose you'll be protected from getting fleeced.

Ask the seller exactly which brand of hitch are they selling? Hidden Hitch, U-Haul, Curt, Reese? Any of those would be a good value. One would think anyway.

Regarding shipping, many sellers lower the item price to entice buyers yet they make up for it by increasing shipping charges. I don't like it, but sometimes it's unavoidable. I always prefer to buy from sellers who charge actual UPS / USPS rates. Most of those are quality recommended (whatever they call it?) Power sellers.

Use PayPal, you're protected. Matter of fact, ebay also now has new rules / protection for everyone.

I noticed the auction ended but the seller has (at least) one more in stock.
