So I got the part from the stealership.....wasnt too salty. Anyway took it to all three parts stores and showed the guy at the desk what I was talking about. Turns out ,and I may be wrong, but it looks as though O'reilly's, Autozone, Advanced, and even NAPA (online and called) all have their parts catalogs saying that we have a dana 30 solid axle. Reason for this is that their parts list just says dana 30 not dana 30a. Tom gave me the Chrysler part number for the axel shaft seal and none of the parts stores could cross check that number in their system. When they looked up what they thought to be the correct axle components they crossed checked their part numbers with Chrysler's part number came back to...wouldn't you know it a dana 30 for a cherokee. This may be old news but I was glad I could school the parts guys at some of these stores. The gentleman at Advanced was a jeep guy, drives a really nice yellowish-gold colored rubicon, and he was the only one that questioned the all knowing power of the computer when I talked with him the first time.
So needless to say it was an adventure

Yes all parts stores(besides dealerships) mostly have incorrect info for all vehicles.
They state that a '02 KJ only ever came with a D35 rear diff and that all years of KJ's only ever came with the 45RFE trans.
Except Napa and CarQuest I can not use places like advance auto or autozone since they need a specific year of vehicle to look parts up(there idiots) and get easily confused when you start throwing multiple years and make/models at them.At least at Napa or CarQuest I can simply say I need a Timkin set20 bearing and they know what I'm talking about.
Then again I like to go the advance auto and autozone from time to time to really mess with there heads

.
Yeah I got a sick sense of humor
