The front of the libby started clunking today and when I looked at the strut assembly the strut was no longer connected and it appears that it has pulled through the plate!!! Has anyone else had this problem before? It's gonna try to hurt me real bad when I take it appart isn't it?

About the only thing you can do is use spring compressors to remove the assembly..
and a hockey mask, and body armor....
GOOD LUCK! :|

is the shock stud no longer protruding through the hole? you can try compressing the assembly with a jack under the LCA

but please be careful

if you're lucky the shock stud will make it back through the hole in the top plate

blue locktite braww and nylon lock nuts ? still pulled through?

How is he going to get the nut back on after the stud goes back through the top plate?
You will still have to remove the assembly....

that would have easily been one of those moments out camping or wheeling where i would have drilled a hole in the body just to see if i could fanangle it back together

The top plate is ripped through. there are pieces of it on the top of the strut

Post subject:  Re: Front shock problem!!! Top plate question

Front:

3" rough ride skyjacker springs
Skyjacker shocks
Cut appart a OTT spacer to make 2- 3/8 shims
3 conduit clevis
Terra Flex extended bumps (not like it will ever compress that far!!)

JBA 4.5's

Rear:

Removed lower Iso
Installed Rustys 2.5" spacer
Rough country Lift springs
Rusty's garbage shocks.

= the 4" stump lift.
