Has anyone built Custom arms? It's been a bit since I looked under there and can't remember what it all looks like but I was thinking of going to a Rod end style. |

I was thinking about this the other day. It doesnt seem to difficult and you could use a johnny joint which would be pretty cool. Not to mention you could build/buy them adjustable and that would fix the rear tire being so close to the front of the rear fender. assuming you extend the y-link to reach the axle better. sounds like an opportunity for more flex. |

Some have bought the Rubicon Express control arms. I think they are 1/2 inch longer than stock. JBA sells and extender for the 3rd link, packaged with the 4" lift kit I think. |

It's kinda funny that i was just thinking about this to myself a couple of nights ago. I think that someone (with more money in their bank account than me lol) should test-bunny a pair of custom arms and give the community some feedback. |

If you build custom/ longer lower arms you'll need a longer tri link as well The extender that JBA sells only moves the Tri Link up, not farther back with lower arms only you are making it worse on drive line angles been discussed a bunch of times on here before |

I understand what you are talking about but how does JBA get it to work? Don't his longer arms push the axle back to center and the tri extension compensate for the lift and corrects the ball joint angle? |

No,the longer arms are for the extra flex the 6" lift has and the OEM "short arms" are not sufficient for that amount of lift. |

I was thinking about trying the RE arms a few times but I didn't want to get myself into any trouble with the whole y-link and whatnot so I just let it go. |

No,the longer arms are for the extra flex the 6" lift has and the OEM "short arms" are not sufficient for that amount of lift. I get that but with that much lift the axle would sit too far forward so the longer arms are also keeping that axle back far enough to keep the tires off the fender well, in other words a stockish location. At any rate you don't have to have a custom tri link made, there are "options". The JBA extension could work, whether or not I trust it is another thing. I would probably have a stronger custom link extender made. |

BUT.... if you really look at the 6 inch lift the arms do not move the rear diff farther back as much as they are longer and mount farther towards the front of the KJ to provide more flex, not really moving the diff back that much if any. Any amount of longer arms will move the front of the diff down, making the angle worse for the long life of U joints, pinion wear. That's why you want to try and get the angle of the driveshaft as close to stock as possible. |

But if I also Re-Do The screwy Y-link. to be longer to match Everything would work. Centering the wheel in the Wheel well. Probly going to find a wrecker Y-LINK and really look into what I can do with it. I've got some vacation coming up....... So instead of building Custom lower Arms I might Just also buy Some wrecker lowers and build my own using the factory Bushing parts. The Y link I think can be done with DOM and some creativity. |

There you go Red If you were closer I have two used ones ( tri links) laying out there you could practice on |

You can do what Neatus did with his Y-Link (full adjustable and use stock supports): ![]() ![]()

U joints and pinion angles are another story, JBA tranny drop is helping with that I suppose. on a side note, that custom tri link looks good. |

You know, I thought about this a little bit and then I realized something. I am going on the assumption that the arms would be moved forward and never thought about putting longer arms in the stock location. Is that the intent? |
