Post subject:  Front end powertrain noise.

I have something like a bearing noise in the front end. Seems around the front diff to me. I changed both hubs, inner diff bushings and seals with a bit of success but there's still a noise. :( I'm running at/ko 245/70R16LT at 50psi. I decoupled the left cv from the intermediate shaft and there was a bit of rust but nothing major. I reassembled the splines using a mix of grease and anti-seize (make my life easy next time) but there's still some bearing noise!!!! It drives me crazy!!! :banghead: It starts around 40mph and fade around 65mph. Hard to tell what it is. There's a bit of play in the cv but the boots are intact and I don't do much wheeling. Mostly used on highway. Any idea before I get really upset and start disassembling that evil machine one bolt at a time??? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

When was the last time you changed the diff fluid? Should be changed every 12k-15k.How about the t-case fluid change? I'd also be checking the front driveshaft also, mostly the t-case side for a ripped boot.

Fluids have been changed (t-case and front diff) 2.5k miles ago. The drive shaft feels great and look great. Strange. I used amsoil 75W90 in diff and mobil1 synthetic transmission fluid in the t-case.
