| Post subject: | ARB bumper light help!! |
I just bought my jeep, its an 04 kj and it came with a ARB bumper. The problem is that the fog lights, turn signals, and fog lights on top are not hooked up. coming off each of the two upper foglights there is a small black cord where another cord can plug into them. Does anybody have an answer of what cord/wire i would have to buy and how to properly install the fog lights and turn signals? |

So nothing on the ARB works? Factory turn signals are plug and play when you install an ARB, factory wires should be there for them Factory fogs ( in the bumper) same way if it was equipped with fogs from the factory the pigtail should be there to hook them up. Lights on top of the bumper can just be wired like any other aftermarket lights, can't tell the brand of them , but not a big job have you looked underneath for any of the wiring? I am really surprised a dealer would sell something without the turn signals hooked up are there wires coming out of them or the factory fogs? There should be if not you'll need to get those from the dealer or a wrecking yard |

The pigtails are there... I just don't know what to hook them up to. Once I get wires where do I connect them? |

On the 02-04 KJs, the ARB bumper reuses the factory turn signals and fog lights. So like Tom said, those should just plug into the factory harness. It sounds like whoever put that bumper on didn't finish the job. Here's a picture from the bumper install manual that shows where the wiring harness is supposed to be. Follow the cables and you'll find the plugs. (the photo is with the bumper off, but if you can find the plugs you shouldn't have to take it off). And again, like Tom said, the upper lights are aftermarket. Is there a switch in the cabin for them? If there's a switch, that's a good sign there's wiring somewhere. If no switch, they've probably never been hooked up. Good luck -- Paul

as you can see in the above pic, there are wires running across the front, on the ends of them there should be some connectors. What you are going to have to do is check each one to see what it is and go from there. Another possibility is that it never came with fog lights, Does it have a fog light multi switch on where you turn the headlights on? If nothing else maybe a road trip down this way to get it all worked out. |
