Has anybody tried to replace the rear glass with canvas for use in the summer? I am thinking of trying something out but would like to see if anybody else has tried something similar. Search function didn't turn anything up either. I would love to be able to have the rear open when all the windows are down for better air flow and to rid the interior of that wind baffling noise when all 4 windows are down. And no I am not driving around with the glass flipped open either. I know security wont be there with canvas but if a thief wants something glass or not it is his.

This guy I met who works for COP4x4, Joe Perez, had this cargo nack onhis JK and he saw my kj all lifted and stuff and asked about it. So i asked him if he would make me one of these for the liberty and possibly market them and sell them. I have not gotten an email from him in over a month (we were emailing back and forth for a few) and this could be a possibility is the market is good for it. it would have the locking piece for the bottom of the window and the hinges at the top as well (window struts if you want them)

Jayme has been known to just drive around with the glass open. I do the same with my dutch door vans.

You might want to do a test run with the glass open to see how the fumes are.
I remember both of my cousins Bronco's would fume out with the back glass down. :dizzy:

I have run with the back window open a lot of times. As long as the side windows were down fumes were not a problem.

My idea is very much a k.i.s.s idea. I have a buddy that does glass work for us and I spoke to him about cutting the rear glass into a frame shape and then using aluminum trim to seal the inside edges of the glass and give it some strength back from cutting out a large section. Then use this weather seal velcro stuff that has a outer seam like a ziplock baggy to fasten the canvas with. Of course I need to come up with a rear hatch glass for him to cut but that's about it. :SOMBRERO:

i was going to maybe go to a place to have them weave it for me, if cop4x4 does not make one. i highly doubt they will, i just threw out the idea to the guy and he gave me his email and number
