Been trying to educate myself with the search functon before asking a bunch of FNG ??'s. Didn't find anything on this one so I thought I'd ask... Question is would a gasser KJ benefit from a CRD spring swap, if you could find one in a salvage yard ?? Reason I ask is that it seems pretty common to get the OME heavier springs to get max lift and stabilize the ride. While searching I came across a thread on the "Wesway" lift over @ KJ country and thought about upgrading the spring rate on the cheap (if possible).

Not arguing the frankenlift/OME wouldn't be the best way to go but for $1200, it's gonna be a while. Right now the front on my '02 sport is sitting @ 18 7/8in. and the rear @ 19 1/2in. with no lift on stock suspension. If top strut spacer (3/8) from Boiler, and a 3/8 clevis lift and 4 new iso. pads on the rear put me somewhere in the neighborhood of 21in. all the way around for +/- $100 I think that would work fairly well for me.

It could work if you can find a low mileage CRD thats been wrecked . From the factory the CRDs are 410 lb. You will not get much lift just from the springs themselves, but some. But add in a 3/8 inch top plate and 3 clevis rings and I would guess you would get 1.75 inches real easy or maybe a little more. If you want it level then one upper isolator in the rear should put you there, for the Liberty"rake' two.
Depending on miles I would try and do new shocks as well and you should be set for quite some time

Update:
I am going to have some CRD OEM stock springs coming in I think along with some other parts soon.

Thanks, I appreciate the info. Right now I'm sitting at 18 7/8in. in the front and 19 1/2in. in back as measured from the center of the wheel to the fender flare edge with 91K miles. Build date was Aug. '01, so it was probably built before they started the pre-lowering thing. The build sheet says I have the " anti-slip rear diff." so I'm guessing it's the trac-loc ??
