I know we're suppose to match gear ratios front and rear, but I'm interested in purchasing Jeepin by Al's front steel diff. Since I have 4.10 installed now I was hoping I could get the same setup for the front, but JBA only has 4.11 gearing in the front. Does the .01 make a difference?

I'd love to go with lower gearing all around and the steel diff, but I don't have $3K or more to burn right now.

Your actual front diff gears(the ones in the D30A) are 4.09's,not 4.10's.

There is no such thing as a 4.11 gear set for a D30.

The difference between 4.09 and 4.11 is very small, you wont notice the difference.

Tire diameter differences between your front and back tires is probably more.

Eggzachery. Factory 4.27/4.30 combo's were used in many apps and are well within acceptable standards. Go for it...

I have 4.09's in the front with a diff pulled from a 4 cylinder and Yukon 4.11's in the rear. Has been like that for many years and works perfectly.

Excellent. Thanks for all the information everyone. Now I've just got to wrangle up the money for the steel diff.

No 4.11's for the 8.25 either.

Sorry, you're right. They are model YG C8.25-411, but they are actually 4.10's.
