The rocky road 2.5" poly spacer budget lift....thoughts? Concerns?

Looks good to me as it has a lifetime guarantee not to fail or lose ride height.

Let me know guys...I want to order tonight or tomorrow.

The sooner I get a lift on the sooner I can get my Goodyear MTR's ordered...YES!!

Thanks

If you are dead set on going with a spacer lift I'm going to suggest the Daystar 2.5" lift. It has some goodies that seperate it from other lifts - strut relocation top plate, built in bumpstop.

The particular lift you are talking about is known to have some serious problems. I believe it is the dreaded "OTT" kit...stay away.

Edit: RRO's "Combo Lift" has been great for most and is only $5 more. Between the two RRO lifts go with the combo. Do a search on "ott" on this forum and you'll find 6 pages of pissed off customers and negative comments.

So the budget lift...being that the spacers are on the outside of the struts....mean it is OTT..over the top....hmm...so the RRO combo kit..and its not a full 2.5" its 2.125"......then..however it is talking about OTT in its write up to....grrr....too many decisions...I would love to get a spring kit....but law enforcement just doesn't pay that well

No the combo kit is the good one.

OTT stands for Over The Top or On The Top. If you look at the kit you are talking about the hole spacer is placed over the strut assembly...its the OTT. Sorry to disappoint.

Ah you went back and edited. Now my post makes no sense! :D

You got it though. I'd still recommend the Daystar if you are in a crunch. If you can spring for the Rusty's spring lift that would be another good option. It is the cheapest of the spring lifts at around $450 or so. Keep in mind that Rusty's comes with struts and shocks. With the spacer lifts those would be extra and then you might as well have the Rusty's spring kit...

 Sorry to confuse....I was all messed up...so I had to go back on it and "repost", thanks for the advice....I'll look at the Rustys spring kit....this OTT business is sounding like more trouble than anything else....when I read the OTT posts I could see how things could become damaged overtime with this style of lift....I'm normally very mechanically inclined....with all the option out there, it gets a little confusing.

How about the RockFather I kit as well...pretty much the same price as Rustys..seems to be part spacer, part coil. I don't think the spacer portion is OTT on this one.

Thanks for the info....much appreciated...and sorry to mess up your post!

I agree that Rusty's is an excellent choice for lowered KJs...but the rear shocks it comes with are not as good as Rancho's, so see if they'll swap them for you or sell you the kit w/o the shocks. Then pick up a pair of Rancho RSX (17004) shocks.

You can find some good sources for the shocks here:

If it is the same price as Rusty's full spring lift then I'd go with Rusty's. Why go with a partial spacer lift instead of springs on all 4 corners? There are a TON of happy Rusty's customers around here. The only complaint you'll hear is about the rear shocks. As stated, you can get Rusty to swap those out.
