Howdy all,

I just installed my Moog K3199 LBJ that I ordered from JbA. They are different from the old LBJ's by the fact that the old ones have a metal clip around the boot sealing the boot to the post; however, the one from JbA does not have a metal clip around the boot, as a matter of fact it has a 1/8" slot molded into the boot where the post come through.

Isn't the boot supposed to provide a good seal around the post so as not to get contaminated with water and dirt and also to keep the grease inside the joint. Has anyone noticed this?

Is the slot in the boot supposed to be some new design? If so, what is the rationale for the slot? Does any have any ideas?

They will be fine, just keep grease pumped into them
The stock ones are a sealed unit, nothing in, nothing out
