Ok i made a topic about this about 6 months ago looking for advice, my KJ still seems to have, as i can best describe, lagging issues mostly on the highway. When on the highway it never seems to want to down shift for me unless i mash the gas. I did have my shift points reset upon a suggestion about 6 months ago to 677 revs per minute. It almost feels like the jeep never wants to leave overdrive, it will sit at 2k rpms all day but never wants to leave even giving it throttle!? Ive run out of resources and was hoping someone could shed some light on this!! :banghead:

I have a similar problem on my wife's 04, I've always attributed it to the stupid fipk it has on it.
I've wondered if some sort of reprogramming would help......

really? hmm i have the K&N intake and also have this "issue". maybe ill put the stock intake on and see if it helps, idk if i really see it though. i figured it was just because the 3.7 is a turd and the extra weight and height of rims/tires made it worse. i just have OD off anyway cause the 265/75 on stock gearing sucks. good thing im regearing when im away for work next month.

Id love to regear mine to some 4.10s but then again the 3.73s should hold up to 245/75/R16s!! I mean really? they are only one size bigger! Anyway I was originally led to believe it was just my shift points, now im not so sure.

my 03 w/ stock air box and drop in Amsoil filter has always been Much peppier than our 04 w/ the fipk (fipk has Amsoil Ea series cone filter installed) I'm tempted to tear out the on-board shower system and put a stock air box back in too.......

I have the stock air box w/ a KN drop in filter and it still does this...I do have a bad 02 sensor though, bank 1 sensor 2, could this be an issue? its right after the Cat

Anyone think this could cause my issue? Are 677 revs per minute correct for the shift points on my KJ?
