I have finally saved enough for lift, a arms, and wheels and tires. Ive been considering the 4wd hardware lift http://www.4wd.com/jeep-parts.aspx?cid=17&jeep-sid=357&plID=60 I've heard this lift is the same as the BDS kit, just badged different, is this true?

I contacted 4wd and they said the front springs are 435 lbs/in. I cant remeber what they said about the rear, but it was comparable to OME's. My question is about the top plate for the front, this lift apparently gets a small amount using a different top plate, if I am to add a clevis lift and possibly a top spacer, is this gonna give me problems since im adding lift by dropping the strut/shock assembly lower?
I am planning on changing the front struts/shocks too.
Should I just abort the idea of the 4wd h/w lift and just go OME springs?

First, I have to ask why from them?
Second, if you want that lift why not buy direct from BDS
Third, you still have to buy front shocks, bumpstops etc so you are in the same price range as OME almost
Fourth, well I'll leave the fourth question for a little while.

If adding top plate, clevis it will not hurt anything with the BDS err rebranded one from them

to answer those questions
1. theyre the only ones selling the rebranded kit. except maybe 4wheelparts, but apples are apples in this case.
2. the lift from 4wd is $450. the bds website wants $473.
3. youre right, i'm just weighing all my options on which one to choose. I'm curious if their "strut relocation plate" actually does anything worth while.

4. I await your 4th question. :?

no frowns dude :)

there's nothing wrong with BDS coils

I would request a shipping quote from 4wdp or 4wd.com and bds direct cause sometimes that 25 dollar cheaper ends up 50 dollars more expensive

I think tom's #1 concern with 4wd.com isn't what they carry, it's what they ship sometimes

ome, jba(skyjacker rebrand), and bds or (4wd hardware rebrand) all come up to about 750 after shocks so it's pretty much the same nickle, it basically boils down to what coil / length combo you want

bds rear coils are like 10lbs rate heavier than jba25 (skyjacker) except jba25's are roughly 3/4" longer overall and the OMEMD's are between the bds and jba25's overall length wise and another 15lbs lighter or so than the jba25's

something like that, that's 98.4% correct, we piled all of that info coil rate wise here somewhere and i had a set of each laying in the floor not long ago

for most people, rear coils aren't going to matter, you'll get 2-3" when it's all said and done, unless you're hanging 400lbs easy off the rear, then no one makes coils worthy of the application :P

for the front OME HD and BDS should be about the same, i remember seeing this "strut relocation" thing you mentioned, but I don't remember what it was for

personally, there's nothing wrong with the stock location, if bds won't work on our stock rancho or bilstein shock"struts" then i wouldn't use them and would go with OME for the front, move the strut in you're on the uni, move it out your on the a-arm

I took a look at the install instructions. And even though the pics are horrible quality, it looks like the strut relocation bracket is just like a Daystar top plate. So it relocates the shock down - not in or out. So it would be similar to OME HD coils with a Daystar top plate. Sounds a lot like someone I know. Oh wait, that is me... But regardless, Make sure to add new front shocks in addition to this lift if you go this route.

Could one swap out the front OME HD's for JBA's Coils to get an additional 3/4''. Ive noticed the front started to settle and I want it back up to the height it was at when the lift was 1st installed. Could that be achieved by this swap?

Or since you don't NEED new A arms, why not bag them and use the $ for a Frankenlift with all the good stuff?

just sayin'...

I figure I might as well get the a arms now and avoid extra problems later, but it's still possible I might wait on them.
What is the advantage of a frankenlift over the OME lift with a top spacer or clevis?? Other than that the Frankenlift is pre-assembled. The OME lift with 132L shocks for the back is $760 through JBA, a grand for the frankie seems steep, unless theres an advantage Im not seeing.

Pre-assmbled is the biggest advantage
You can get the same height out of the OME coils with a couple of little tricks
