Does anyone have any pictures or an explanation of how your custom front bumper is mounted? Brackets, attachment points? Im going to start working on my front bumper within the next week or two, and Ive been thinking about how im going to mount it quite a bit and nothing Ive thought of really sounds strong enough? pictures would be greatly appreciated,
Dalton

2"x2"x1/4" angle with 2- 7/8" grade 8 locking nuts welded to the inside of the angle bolted through the frame. Length is all dependent on what your design requires. :JEEPIN:

That's basically what I had planned in my head, but I didn't seem like it would be strong enough to pull my jeep out of mud or get It unstuck if I have to. How is yours holding up? I just dont wanna be getting winched or something and have my bumper fly off.
Thank you for the reply and picture.

what you can do is have the inserts, with say 3 bolts to the uni on each side, then form a bracket from the center of the bumper to the center of the uni and put 2 bolts on each side of the grill at the center of the vehicle as well

it'll make the bumper and the uni one unit if done correctly, prevent twisting etc

So far so good! Was used as an anchor to get out a wrangler a couple of months ago along with a wild attempt to be a Honda opener in Meijers parking lot. The Honda came flying across a parking lot while I was pulling out of a spot, the Honda ended up needing a front end and a tow truck. All I had was some Honda guts hanging off my bumper and a smile after I found out I wasn't scratched. How could it not be stout? It is the same idea as mounting a hitch but up front. :SOMBRERO:

Thanks for the insight, Im most likely gonna use that set up with 3 bolts, and the center attached as well. I've got the mockup of the bumper made, now all I gotta do is wait for the metal to get here!

I was looking at the ARB and detours when i was thinking of mounts, both look really solid. I've got a pretty good idea of how im gonna mount it, ill post pics when i get it done- finally get to start working on it all on Tuesday. I was looking in the fab section, and i found OHVkjs bumper build and i absolutely love it, by far my favorite bumper Ive seen. Changed a few things on my mock up and spent $25 on grade 8 nuts bolts and washer. Who new nuts and bolts could cost so much?
