Do not cut (or remove it), it is part of the unibody system. Just hammer it over, the plastic wheel well covers it up.. As long as you take your time to sand/heat/sand, it will look factory. |

easiest way I have found is to heat the plastic up some, it cuts like butter then cut a v shape out wider than the pinch weld area, bend over the pinch weld and flatten as much as possible, then slowly heating the plastic you can form it back out over the cut area smooth it over and done Oh and paint the area where you beat the pinch weld over at before replacing the plastic |

a secondary fix that's more or so visual than anything else, is once you've beat the pinch, take a piece of steel step flashing, they're about 10" long or so and have a 90* bend in them and very cheap, about 25 cents a piece cut a patch out of it and rivet it to the inner wheel liner over the gap and spray everything over with whatever rubberized undercoating you can find the flashing is thin enough to bend to accept any bulges left from the pinch not being entirely flat but strong enough that the rivets aren't going to pull through it and the rubberized spray will give it plenty of weather proofing to prevent water from getting trapped behind it but either paint or rubberize the pinch area after you beat it down for good measure anyway just a secondary method |
