Hey guys, currently trying to pull the driveshaft out to change the u-joints, but having trouble removing the actual shaft. I removed the 4 bolts in the rear, but won't drop. I purchased a haynes manual, but is no help what-so-ever. Does anyone have any tips or pics to help me remove the driveshaft? Thanks in advance. AJ |

should pry out, they get dirt, rust etc in there so may have to use a little force. Also have you cut the band on the front yet so you can pull it out? |

Are you talking about the front of the shaft, the metal clips holding the dust boot? I removed the rear clip, the clip closest to the front of the vehicle is still on. How much force is required to get that four bolt flange side off? It is flat, correct?? Ninja edit: Got it off! Nothing a hammer and chisel couldn't take care of. Anything to take care of while it's off? |

Anything to take care of while it's off? Just inspect it for dents/damage of any sorts. Also make sure the new u-joints fit nice. In the trucking industry anyhow I have seen some yokes worn out so badly the new u-joints fit like they are too small. Dont know if this happens as much on cars. |

just make sure to clean out and regrease the shaft so it doesn't get all dry and start binding up like it was when ya pulled it off ya usually dont have to remove that boot clip, just spread them a bit till the boot slides, then re pinch them on reinstall |

I think I may need to pill off the driveshaft again, I unfortunately didn't have enough grease as I thought so the input shaft didn't get as much as I believe it needed. Other than that Allthe vibrations are gone!! U joints cost me 36$ installed , and they have a grease fitting to do myself. Thanks again guys. |

well now that you got it broken free and it's fresh, the driveshaft will come out a ton easier than you experienced before protect your face |
