So, I've been trying to find as much information as I can on tire sizes and can't come up with a for sure answer if 245/7017 Duratrac's will work on a non-lifted Liberty. I'd like to do a lift next summer but need to get some snow shoes before then and I'm hopeful that it's possible... any advice or knowledge is welcomed.

Thanks!

Yea unfortunately, otherwise I would have them on right now.

If you want a somewhat aggressive tire that will fit without a lift, the only thing I found was a BFG A/T in 225/70/17. Other than that, good luck trying to find something decent in 235/65/17.

I ran 245/70r16s with no lift, slight rub at full lock but nothing a slight wheel well mod didnt take care of. I don't know the overall difference in the 16" vs 17" rim on tire size.

I do believe 245/70/16 = 29.5 inches.
245/70/17 = 30.5 inches.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have 245/70/17 firestone destinations right now and they are rubbing with the OME spring lift. I wish I would have went wider but oh well. I can definitely tell when they rub though. If I didn't have to give up my old tires I would have let ya have them until you got your lift cause they still had a decent amount of tread on them. =/

I really hate to spend the money on tires and then turn around a few months later wanting to increase the tire size after lift. Would a Daystar life make sense to give me the room needed now with plans on a OME lift in the summer so that I'm able to get new tread before winter?

After some thought, I'd like to do this right - can the OME lift be done in stages so that I can get the tires on? I'm not planning to take the Jeep offroad until next summer so would stock shocks/struts be ok if I were to just replace coils now? Would bumpstops be required now? If so, what is the recommended part for front and rear?

While I'm at it - anyone near Coatesville, IN willing to help in this endeavor?

No on the stages,
you have to compress the springs etc to install new ones, why do it twice just to install new SHOCKS in the front later, plus more than likely you need new front SHOCKS anyways
rear has to have longer shocks or you'll top out the old ones
Buy some tires run them and sell them
I haven't worn out a set yet on mine, run them for a while sell them and go BIGGER! :ROTFL:

I realize I'm a little late to the topic, but I ran 245/65R17s on my KJ without a lift for about two years and they worked great. Any bigger would have been a problem though.

Ended up putting 245/65/17 SilentArmor's on yesterday. Love the filled in look and more agressive tread design. They're talking about icy conditions in the next week so I'll give them a trial by fire and report back.

Thanks for the help.

Let us know how you like those after you break them in Vip.
