Greetings, I was curious if any of you fine folks would be able to provide some insight with an issue that I've been having lately. First off, while I'm at school I park in the very bottom level of an underground parking garage. It usually stays between 40-50 degrees F down there in the winter. On Friday, I came home for Christmas break and have been parking outside since. On Saturday morning I started my Liberty up after it sat overnight in the cold and was greeted with the red oil light in the center of the dash. I let it warm up, turned it off and turned it back on and the light was gone. Last evening, same thing...turned it off, turned it back on and the light was off. I drove to my destination...about 6 miles away, let it sit (on level ground) for about 10 minutes...pulled the dip stick and checked the level twice, everything was fine. On my way to work this morning, same thing happened...though this time I turned it off immediately, then turned started it again and the light was off. Anyone have any ideas as to why the light is coming on? Thanks for any help! -Ryan EDIT: The only thing I can think of is the oil being thicker because of the weather. |

yep, pretty self explanatory, just be careful of leaning too hard on lines and such, make sure to spin it backwards a few times until you feel it "click" into the threads to prevent it from cross threading, if it doesn't thread in smooth back it out and try again just stuff like that, basically same care that's taken with most stuff, they aren't fragile, but they can be awkward! |
