Rear Spring isolator - Mopar?

Hi All,

Please can you tell me where I can find some rear isolators for KJ 2003? I think I saw in one post that Mopar did some, but for the life of me I can't find the post any more ( maybe I was :dizzy:

).

I need them for a while until I get a lift installed.

Do you know if Jeepinbyal ship to Europe?

Also I am sure Mopar did some too? Do you know or come across them ( I can access the Mopar parts website)? because it's easier to get hold of them via Jeep Europe if Jeepinbyal don't ship to Europe.

Also another quick question, I assume you drop the spring and slot them in at the top the Upper Coil isolator and they will give me a bit more lift ( .5 inc or >2 cm) ? It's only temporary until I fit the lift.

JBA ships to Europe no problem. Contact him through email (use the website) and he will figure out the best price.

USPS (normal US post) is mostly the cheapest.

These are the MOPAR isolators. If you are going to buy them at JEEP UK you will probably pay 35 GBP EACH! (they are 40 Euros over here..

)

Anyway, the JEEP part number for them is 52088707AA.

And yes, you drop the axle (take out the lower shock bolts), take out the springs (may take some effort, helps if a mate stands on the brake drum/disc).

Pop in the isolator. You get about about half an inch per isolator> you need to pop in 2 extra per side to get an inch. (that means you end up with a total of three per side: 2 new ones+the one that's already there)

Refit springs, refit shock bolts, fit wheels, done.

You can do a 3/8 clevis lift in the front, no need for conduit nuts. (if you can get them, or something like them, better)

I think I would be best ordering this from Boiler here, but can I use it still when I install a Full OME suspention kit? from what I understand i can, is that correct? that would nearly give me a full 2.5 inc lift more or less.

The clevis lift is not a topplate.

Boiler sells topplates, that go on top of the coilover (shock/spring combo).

The clevis lift is lifting the shock up in the clevis.

I'd better show you a pic:

And yes, you can use the Boiler (or DIY) topplates later on when you get other springs or shocks, because you will use the OEM topplate with those too.

If you have an angle grinder you can make the topplates yourself. Or you can make them out of hard plastic cutting boards. I prefer steel though...

I added those two rear isolators 3 weeks ago. got them from a local junkyard.

I also got a new supplier here in Greece.

Nice friendly guy with low prices. Met him in person.
I'll give him a ring and see how much he charges for the isolators and let you know.

Just spoke with my contact, the part number Tony gave us is for the upper isolator and the price is 11,00 € per piece.
For the lower isolator (52128524AA) the price is 16,00 €.
PM me your address and I can give you a shipping quote.

Since Tony is usually right, I got confused, is it the upper or lower isolator we need?
Looking at the picture in JBA I must say that maybe, just maybe I got confused and swapped the upper with the lower isolators when installing the OME lift.. :oops:

one extra upper per side works best like Tony stated
but you can use one extra lower IF you have good bumpstops in place ( just in case they try to wiggle free and jump out :wink:

Well yesterday I nipped round to my local "Jeep Recycle centre" and asked if they had some available and lucky me I came back with 4 upper isolators (total bill £20, 22.50€, $30.80).

Now question is: how many am I supposed to put per side? One (Rev Tommudd) or two (Tonycrd)? If I put one what will be the end result height wise and same again if I put two?
As explained it's temporary until the lift goes in and it's to stop some rubbing against the wheel arches at the back when if full extension /compression on the rear axel.

If you read back in my posts you'll see that with 1 you get about 1/2" with 2 ( so 3 total) you get about 1".

Pitty you didn't say you wanted to fit these to solve your tire rubbing problem, because they will do absolutely nothing to solve that.

You see, adding 2 isolators will still let the spring compress untill the OEM bumpstop hits the spring purch, it will only compress the spring a little more.

What you have to do is fit extra bumpstops on the rear axle. Like a hockeypuck or something.

thank you, I did read and saw it would give me an extra 1" with 3 insolators, I was checking incase I miss read.
Now What is a "Like a hockeypuck or something" can I lift the Bumpstops at the Back in such a way to stop the rubbing a bit?
