So yesterday I wake up to snow on the ground, So i need 4 hi no problem. Then to make sure that everything is in fine working order I go in to 4Lo and then when I go to shift out I cannot get it to shift down even into neutral. I put the transmission in Park, Reverse, neutral, Drive, 2, 1 and it would not go down. After trying this for 2 or 3 minutes I took my foot off the break and it magically transferred out and all the way down to 2hi again. I do not recall having to take my foot off the brake to go in and out of 4Lo. Does anyone have any input? This is a 2002 Liberty Sport 3.7L. I changed to T-case fluid about 5 months ago. Is there something that needs to be lubed that's not? If so can someone post a picture of what needs to be lubed? Thanks for your help! |

It sounds like you still had stress on the drivetrain preventing it from changing. Kind of like being stuck on a hill with it in gear. |
