Maybe this is a dumb question, I'm sure its been asked before somewhere. Is there like a shift kit or a programer for the tranny in our Libbys? Mines a 2005 4x4. I just want it to shift firmer because it seems kinda soft. I have 265 tires on it so if I end up with a programer I would like to reset the shift points and the speedo back.

Transgo makes one many like and some don't like. It doesn't fit all KJ transmissioms though. http://transgo.com/
I have not tried it on the KJ but have used on many other vehicle without problems always better. Call them direct

Your not going to see a whole lot different shifts with the 42RLE shift kit. What you need is 4.10 gears in the diffs.

Yeah, 4.10 gears are on the list to buy when I start ordering parts in a few months. Most of the stuff should be on the Jeep by the time I get home.

TJKJ Do you know if the "trans flash" applies to me. I may begin a 700mi road trip to Costa Rica where service is better.
If so do you know if it is identified by a number that I can furnish them?
