Hey guys, Looking at installing a Frankenlift into my wife's 07 limited. It has 100,000km on it and the warranty is just coming to an end. It has a magnaflow exhaust and KN drop-in filter. I'm going to run 245/75/16 on Rubicon wheels. My question is do i need to install the jeepin by al arms or will i be OK with the stock stuff? it will See very little off-road except for some camping trips. Thanks, |

If your UCAs are still good you do not need them although it does help to get it closer to a better alignment. |

I bought my Frankenlift from JBA EDIT "ALL J's" recently. I asked them if anything else was necc. No was the reply. I mentioned the two upper rear Iso spacers and they stated that would be a good idea, so I got those too. approx 1000mi installed on very rough streets and some off road. The alignment guy who aligned it was pretty good but not great or done. I have two problems. 1. The back is lower than the front visibly I'd say an inch and a half. I have not yet installed the rear spacers which are not part of the kit. 2. The front coils at this extension are at an extreme angle. I am ordering the UCA's now and they will in theory correct the problems I have. Control arm contact or coil spring spacer contact at the frame are what I have to align in between. Whatever the reason new JBA 4.5 control arms should cure the banging. A nice bumper will help with the weight too. |

From experience with a Franky you need at least one most times two uppers to sit level also takes a while to really break a Frankenlift in, a few miles off road is not enough. Hve to realy twist it up and a bit of time. For exmple One upper rear isolator on a regular OME 927/948 lift and 3/8 inch top plate in front will sit level The JBA UCA will help some with spring contact but breaking them in good works wonders' wayward where are you sitting at now from middle of wheel to bottom of flare? |

I was under the impression that the frankenlift was made by All J products aka Boulderbars? http://www.boulderbars.com/frankenlift.htm So with this kit will i sit level or not? do i need anything other then the kit? |

Just measured, not 100% level grade but very close. front right 23 1/2 rear right 21 1/2 front left 23 rear left 21 even I will measure it at the frame to ground (for myself if nothing else)in the light it's 5:30 am and too many darn snakes feeding here at night. I don't like snakes. When looking at the profile it appears to be about one inch lower in the back. The lift only has about 800 miles on it now but the roads here are about as rough as some of the logging or fire roads in Washington state. I've only twisted it good one time for about an hour. I am ordering an ARB bumper with the JBA 4.5's and some other goodies soon(trying to consolidate). I think the 927's need some weight to smooth the front end out some or maybe I just need lots more break-in but toys are coming either way. I expect clevis lift then 790's swap eventually. |

You are 100% correct. All J's AKA Boulderbars. I edited my post. As for level I would get two rear spacers per side unless they are readily available when/if you want to add them. Follow along I could be wrong and check out this thread. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=43472&hilit=fender+heights. |

Have you seen this much imbalance before? Most I read on lift and fender height comparisons don't have this much imbalance. I know the front's are at full extension most all the time bouncing off the UCA's. Makes for an interesting ride and the speed bumps |

Hey fasta76. I'll be the first to say it. Save yourself a pile on shipping and duty and taxes and call Brandon at NSOR in Vancouver. Order some springs, source some shocks and build your own Lift. Sure it's nice having all the bits show up in one box but you can probably save a pile of cash by sourcing the parts locally. www.nsor.com Also could call the folks at OuiPak in Quebec, prices are marginally better than NSOR and they are the ARB Canada authorized dealer. A fella on here who goes by "huntbuggy" posted links to several suppliers, OuiPak and Blistien included. |

Check this sticky for Canadian Jeep KJ parts... http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37966 Am just over the NY border and have family all over the states and still found better deals in Canada, and less hassles for friends at the border / shipping - you'd be surprised! (Or support "buy Canadian" - even better "buy BC" - Essex for Bilsteins in Richmond is pretty hard to beat.) |

Thanks Huntbuggy... I just hate trying to piece things together. Its always nice to just buy it all from one place and not have to worry that you forgot something. But i will check before i order. Does anybody have part # if a guy was to piece it together? Are the bilsteins better then the OME? |

Should i go with the 3"-4" lift shocks? http://www.bilsteincanada.com/advanced_ ... ubmit.y=14 Please let me know. |

You have the right parts on the Essex website, those fronts are the only one they make for KJ afaik. The rears most use are for a lifted YJ so the third one the 5100 Series Rear (BE5-6458-H7) 3"-4" Lift (24-185660) http://www.bilsteincanada.com/product_i ... 0cf1lhmg65 At the time couldn't get those when I ordered so went with the $88 Dakota rear shocks Heavy Duty Series (BE5-A702-H0) Rear (33-185859) http://www.bilsteincanada.com/product_i ... ts_id=3484 If you're going all ARB OME this is your probable recipe list from http://www.arbcanada.com ... 1X 2927 (2X 927) Front spring Liberty MD 1X 2948 (2X 948) Rear spring Liberty MD 2X NS131 Front strut Liberty lifted MD/HD 2X N132L Rear shock Liberty long travel Out West a lot of the guys seem to deal with NSOR or National4wd too, check reviews for their service, it's not always about price. About ordering stuff in one place... tough sometimes when you also need custom top plates, bumpstops and then OEM parts too. But I agree I'm still waiting for a lot of my lift stuff to get here - with any luck I won't have forgotten anything - and much thanks to the guys on these forums for all the information to keep that from happening. Couldn't ask for a better community for a vehicle! |

So is this all a guy needs to lift it to clear 245/75/16? What about strut plates for the front? Or do you need them? 1X 2927 (2X 927) Front spring Liberty MD 1X 2948 (2X 948) Rear spring Liberty MD 2X NS131 Front strut Liberty lifted MD/HD 2X N132L Rear shock Liberty long travel |

fasta76 wrote: What about Strut Top Plates? and what are the hockey pucks for? Top plates, no struts top plates are either 1/4 or 3/8 inch think, they will give you double the thickness of the plate ( i.e. 1/4 inch thick plate gives you 1/2 inch more lift) and no you don't need them unless you want more lift. You can also do a 3/8 clevis lift for the same amount of lift Hockey pucks are bolted to the spring pad in the rear to act as bumpstops two per side is the norm, cheap and they work great |

Thanks so much for the help guys! I will try to piece it together and see what i come up with for price? As for the top plates would a guy need them to run 245/75/16 with Moab wheels? If so where would be a good place to get them? |
