So first off, the stock wrangler st tires are GARBAGE! They are basically slicks once they hit dirt and got me stuck twice yesterday in one of the muddy sections on the trail. Then I get home and start hosing my Jeep off and the bead breaks on one of them! Time for new tires!

Stuck:

Broke!

I'm getting tires that I have yet to see on a KJ; BFG Commercial T/A Traction (215/85r16)

I love the safari rig look of tall skinny tires. Also, skinnies work great in the mud which we have a ton of in FL. On cars I don't like skinny tires at all, but in the mud skinnies seriously do work.

315s on my stang vs 215s on the galant...

As for the lift...I originally wasn't going to lift it, but I decided to go with H&R 40mm lift springs and still deciding on which shocks to get.

I also need to get some recovery points for the front, are drop hitches or hooks better?

And cause I love pics:

245/70 ----------- 215/85

This brand tire was just used cause they had them in both sizes. Tough decision cause the 245s are much cheaper.

the 265-70-16 road is a rubbing filled one  . i would say go with the typical 245-75-16. they look awesome and are all around a great size. the 265's get me everywhere i need to go, and i havent had much, if any wheel spin with them.

personally, i just prefer how the big meaty 265's look over the narrow 215's or the 225's. Though i still have rubbing on the rear fender, but ill deal with it.

Get these tires.
Trust me, you will love them here in Florida.

Might go with the 215/85 duratrac after reading reviews on them. Love the way they look too.

LMFAO.

Here I am going to say what I always hated to hear when I joined LOST....do a search and you will see there is a TON of info here for you to digest. A good number of us run OME lifts and love them. I was hesitant on getting mine but wish I got it sooner...the day I bought my KJ to be honest. It rides great and have had no problems with it. Although I am seriously thinking about lifting it more

For recovery points, there are a few options. Some people go with factory hooks, some will install hidden hitches, some like me rip off the bumpers and fabricate :) A word of warning though...when you get bit by the fabrication bug you will NEVER stop, lol. You can ask my wife. She sent me an email today saying she is sick of hearing about me working on my rear bumper. Granted it has been a bit slow but I am always modifying it.

For tires, I have 245/75/16 BFG AT/KO on Moabs. I had the same tires on my stock rims, just like yours. Here too it is a matter or preference. I like mine but am thinking about some Wrangler ATs next time. My father in law has them on his TJ and I really like how they handle.

For mud...I had a set of Perellis on my old Sunbird and took that mudding several times, no seriously I did. Only got stuck once and when I got out I realized the tire had gone flat, the bead broke or separated...something like that. It was about 15-20 years ago.

When getting tired I do a lot of research on tirerack.com and on here.

Personally I have never like the tall skinny tires on a jeep but that is me.

Hope that helps confuse you some more :D

I just bought stilts for my fat woman. 215/85 Duratracs. They are much wider than the geolanders and bfgs I was looking at...8.5/7 width.

The ome lift is what I originally wanted but I think the h&r progressive springs will give me a nice ride. I love h&r. I have had their suspension on 2 previous vehicles. The ome sounds great too but is currently my 2nd choice.

Just posted in your pic thread actually. The tires finally came in from 4wheelparts but they had a big sale on the 12th and are completely booked for awhile. I guess it's first come, first serve, based on when your parts arrive at the shop. My appointment for mounting is March 28th.
