So i did some searcing and some thinking about dropping the cradle. If i drop the cradle say 2-4in with fabricated brackets and such ( not just washers). And the t case and if need be raise the motor mounts. Then get the extended forks for the front struts along with longer ucas would i be able to fit 33s? As for the rear a custom 3 link with some diff springs and extended lcas. Yes i know it would take time and work but would be much faster then a sfa and waay more cost effective for me. From what i can tell the cvs would be at a better angle then they are now and would be alignable factory and ride like it does now. Ok pros and cons/ will wont work go... |

not to throw sand on the fire.. but you're asking pro/cons for an inch of tire size over what can be done very effectively with already available resources talking a lot of time, and quite a bit of cash to run a 33 would cost less to run a 3" lift, 32s, regear to 4.10s + the jba ucas but it's not going to ride like it does now it's going to ride better, switch from the puck spacers to OME or the JBA4s or something if you're determined to go the drop route, jba has adjustable rear setups |

Ever heard biting off more than you can chew? 2-4 inch cradle drop You would have to fabricate EVERYTHING new in front, from custom UCAs, custom steering linkage, front driveshaft, custom brackets for the drop itself, and the list goes on and on. Theer are several with CRDs that are running 32 inch tires and Frankenlifts. I agree with Jarhead for the 1/2 inch of height you'd gain you're going to have to design an awful lot of custom parts to do what you are talking about Read through what others have done, what works, and go from there. and front SHOCKS....... I say get rid of the Daystar, install new 790 springs/ OME shocks and have fun |

Tecnically its like 3in of tire cause the revos being an AT are only like 30.2in tall. That being said i do get some rubbing on occasion too from an AT and my pinch weld is bent and i have almost no inner fender in the front and the bumper was cut too. So to fit a 33in MT i need alot more room. And id do a 32 but they are hard to find. Making stuff im fine with ive made crossmembers and lifts for cjs and have done a sas on a ranger too so thats notna big deal. I have time as im between jobs and i have another vehicle to drive. Ive thought about the linkage and from the looks can just extend the shaft. Mine is only 2in lifted and being a CRD i dont want to distroy cvs. And for the 800 some odd dollars jbas are id be able to make a lift to give them a more liveable angle for quite a bit cheaper not no mention much cheaper then the 3k for the 4in lift. And it is my dd so i want it to be safe as well thats why im looking for input. I love jeeps but i just miss having to jump to get into my silverado on 35s yes i know im not guna get close to that with ifs but i just want it to "look" more lifted and be able to go through most of the same stuff as the full size guys around here. Thanks for the input so far. And sorry for some botched spelling im typing on an ipad. |

Even with a CRD regearing will be needed going that big, then you have the 30A front diff to think about, don't see where going to that amount of work is going to get you more than a 32 inch tires can ? and I was talking about going from a 32 to 33 not from where you are now JLRockies with a CRD has been rockin' 235-85s ( 32 inch tire) and 4.10s for quite a while, I could see if someway you were or could go to 35s to make the big leap but only up to 33s ??? You are getting rubbing from worn out springs and not so good of a lift, what do you measure from middle of the wheel to bottom of the flare? |

I personally like it, I'm pretty sure all you'd have too do for the steering is extended the PS lines and change/lengthen the stock steering shaft. The Rack is mounted too the Cradle so all that remains stock. I would buy some adjustable coil buckets for the back from BlueTorch Fab or Ballistic for the rear and run a 2.0" Coilover from FOA (Probably could fit a 8" stroke shock in there) in the front to get some actual flex. UCA's would however have too be custom. The difference from a 235/85/16 to a true 33x12.5R15 off-road tire is worth it IMHO..... But what do I know I'm going SFA. |

get off of the 16" and go to 15" steelies and your tire options dramatically get better compared to say 265-75s |

Ok I'm sitting at 21 right now and before was 19 so I gained an actual 2in the stock springs wernt sagged much. And I'm going from a 31 to a 33 I wouldn't wana go partway. And the main reason I'm doing it is to save the cvs. It would be far less work then a sfa. And like a friend said if I keep the engine where it is and lower the tcase too it will put the driveshaft at a better angle and lower the center of gravity as well. And I do have 15s 32s are harder to find then a 265\75. Which is actually taller then my 31. |

And as for gears yes I know I would have to do that too. And like I said the work isn't a big deal I have time to kill |

Sweeet, I like this guy, think outside the store bought box. Sure it's good but there are always improvements I found many. I was able too run a 33" tire without that much work tho. ![]() on 33" X-Terrains ![]() Move your lower shock mounts way up and Bump stop the heck out of it it's the easy way to 33's |

Keeping the engine where it is, and lowering the transfer case will cause the angles on the front driveshaft to be worse, not better. Front driveshaft will be angled up more at the front of the transfer case causing a bind when you lower the cradle. Centr of gravity lower, maybe a very small amount but not enough to even think about. One of those many times I am so glad I don't have one of those CRDs. I'm over 4 inches of lift and have been for thousands of miles and not one problem. I'm tall enough I can run 33s if I wanted but with 4.10s the only option it runs good right where it is with 32s! Good luck....... |

My guess is that when all is said and done JBA's $800 odd dollars - will look cheap......

What did you do to lift the front? And did u get the bracket for the rear ball joint relocate? Also I ment keeping the motor on the cradle so basically the whole drivetrain will be dropped so the front shouldn't change much. And I have a bunch of old springs out of various vehicles for the rear its just a matter of getting the front down I thinkk the extended forks with the lift I have now should be close. |

And yes I would much rather spend some time and almost half if not way less money and make something myself rather then buy it. If my rigs down for a month and it saves me 3k I'm happy. |

You will find some people are comfy with there "Store Bought Lifts" (I loved my boxed stuff the way it was for almost 2 weeks before finding a way to improve down travel up front) and also seem to be afraid of innovation even tho they love the end product, then their are others are willing to hack things up and find out what doesn't work and what does work. I see now that Tomm has retracted his post |

After over 30 years of building 4 wheel drives and pushing the envelope ( a 77 Doge van on 40s is not a normal every day driver) but I know what can be done and can't safely and making it work long term Seen too many hack jobs over the years where people think they know what to do only to end up with a POS. Lot more experience than you think red 666 But keep the remarks coming |

It is a Beautiful weld isn't it lol, but it's still there after 6 months or so of hell. I know there is a lot of experience here but you just keep shooting down everyones ideas on anything lift related because it's not what you have. |
