It's some guy from Mexico I believe. I saw his cardomain sometime quite a while back, if you can find it you might be able to ask him about the brush guard.

If he was from Austrailia the driver would be on the other side.

It probably the factory gaurd with the plasic still on the sides thats why it looks thick. Then he moved the top bar down and put a plate across for the winch.

Mine has all the plastic stripped down. I'll probably move my top bar down and put a plate across too.

it;s a poser bumper... just a "brush gaurd". arb and rock lizards are the real deal.

I agree with krazz1e, the brush guard is just that...a brush guard. The winch is probably mounted to the frame under the stock bumper plastic with some steel plating directly under the winch itself. Mounting it to a brush guard would be a serious mistake that would make itself obvious on the first attempt to use the winch.

That could even be PhotoShopped...

I agree that "it;s a poser bumper... just a "brush gaurd". arb and rock lizards are the real deal." BUT...

As far as the strength with the winch goes? Well The brushgaurd is mounted to the same place the tow hooks are so who knows if it will hold :?: It will only have the strength the tow hook mounts have. I guess the tow hooks are poser too, unless mounted to an ARB or lizard, Be careful yall, your tow hooks might yank right out

You can make a plate that will bolt in place between the gaurd frame sitting on the bar where my Tag is zipped tied to. No doubt it will be strong enough for a winch on a foward pull. Side to side is where you will run into a possible problem.

A plate would still make a useful place to put something even if its an stupid

The brush guard's structure itself doesn't lend well to being pulled or pushed, so while it is mounted to the same spot as the tow hooks, it serves no recovery purposes at all. If forced upon, the guard will bend from it's original position while still mounted securely to the tow hook mounts. I've seen a guard get yanked clear off a vehicle, leaving broken tubing still mounted to the body (to be honest it was hilarious). I've also seen one take a hit and it just falls back into the body with no hesitation. Tow hooks are definitely more useful. Only get a brushguard if you like the looks, or want to mount lights on it, ‘cause that’s they’re only purposes.
The only way that winch is mounted is by a plate mounted directly to the frame, as I did to my diamond plate up front.

Hi! I have the same brush guard, but not modified like that one. Looks good! I want the front hitch AND the brush guard on mine. Anyone done that? I bet I will have to do some welding..hummm. Also, I am looking for mounting instructions for the mopar chrom brush guard. I need to reverse it to get it off...had it installed at the dealer. I really don't want to pay that money for them to uninstall it. Also they won't want to try to install both the hitch and brush guard. So...any thoughts?

Thanks!

You can put the front hitch on there with the brush gaurd, You just have to toss the "M" bolts and put longer grade 8's in there. Same way I installed the tow hooks. Bend a coat hanger to grip the longer bolts, slide them in the cracks and into the holes, bolt up baby

If you are putting the reciever hitch in for a winch, thats a good idea because you can swap from front to rear. You can still modify that gaurd to strengthen it for side to side movement. Actually if you added a plate for the winch to mount on it would probably do the job.

Don't let some of these folks discourage you and tell you a modified factory gaurd ainit strong enough for a winch...Its bolted to the same holes as the tow hooks and reciever hitch.

The steel ain't going nowhere, the bars are a diff story.

Yeah, that is what I thought to do also. I am headed to Fastenal today to get the longer bolts. I am going to attempt it this weekend. I am going to get a winch soon as well. Thanks for your comments!

I still would be concerned about side pulls with the winch mounted higher than reciever level
