so within the next week as long as nothing unexpected pops up im going to be ordering some new wheels for my liberty. what im wanting to know is how much backspacing is to much. i currently have the rustys 2.5 lift with 31x1050x15 with cherokee wheels and 1.5 wheel spacers and have minimal rubbing right now. im just wandering what size backspace any one has used on a liberty with a 2.5 lift and how much rubbing you have before i blindly make a decent size purchase. any help or advise is appreciated.

7 inches wide, and 4 inches of backspacing works best

the ones im lookin at gettin are 15x8 with either 4.00 or 4.75 of backspace. im guessing since there 8" wide instead of 7 my best bet would be 4.75 of backspace?

x2 What Tom said.

I followed this and the only issue was pounding the pinch weld back,
and a bit of rubbing on the flare..

But these are for the summer only, have snow's for.....well you
know......winter.

You need to make sure that the 15" wheel you are looking at will clear the caliper on your front rotors.

Yes. With an 8" wide rim, 5" of BS would be better, or as close to that as you can get. If it is a 15" steel wheel, it should clear the calipers. Alloy 15" won't. But might be best to do a test fit on an 8" wide rim, just to be sure. Most run `15x7 on the KJ. I had 15x7 with 4" BS Cragar Black D Windows with 32x11.50 BFG AT KOs and had very minimal rubbing on pounded pinch weld after fender trimming. 10.50's would work fine on a 7" rim too.
