just got my front driveshaft out, with the confidence from tommudd that it wouldn't leak, lol.

anyone running u joint front driveshaft? Where did you get it, how many miles on it? Using 4x4? Complaints?

I see cci driveline and a few others make them, but want guinea pigs before I order :)

Not a good idea, more issues then the CV driveshaft. If you could change the front driveline angles you could use one trouble free but with IFS you can not so vibs will result.

That settles that

Ive read on other threads about people saving the boot on tcase side before its "too late".... Anyone know for what?

the end of mine is wobbly, lots of play, boots about 90% gone, is a cv kit going to solve this or do I need a new shaft?

The kit basically replaces the whole "head" of the drive shaft on that end, boot/bearings etc so it will all be new
best way to go really, I've done I think 4 or 5 so far and no problems
I even keep one of the kits sitting on the shelf so if anyone is here and needs one its ready, no waiting

Does Eric still exist from the Automotive parts unlimited? "ericautoparts@aol.com" ? His email does not work,

Otherwise, I guess the Dorman repair kit will do just fine!

Thinking of making a heat shield to go around that cat, reading other posts (probably yours mudd) about the heat possibly drying the rubber... I really didn't use 4wd much, and 95% my terrain is asphalt, my boot looked like it was 300,000 miles old, not 100,000, lol
