Ok I know this is about the 1,000,000,000th time this has been brought up but i just put my 15in rims and tires on Went with the TXRUS STXs in a 29.5 in but they rub the front of the fender well just a bit. Was wondering if anyone knows how to make a spacer lift cheaply or if they have step by step instructions (preferbly with Pics) on how to do the clevis lift. |

There is a difference in the spacer lift and a clevis lift. Here is my clevis lift. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... php?t=5880 I believe I did one of the smallest clevis lifts known to man, but I still got alittle lift from it. I would love to rotate my springs to where I could put more spacers in and let the upper a-arm drop down more. I wish I would of known that before I put them in. Edit: Do you have a lift? Thats the same size tires I'm wanting to get. |

how r those tires workin out?? im lookin at the trxus mt's. I have had them on for about a week now. They are noisy but i dont care i went from the 215/75 16s to these. i put them on in the snow and they got all the traction i neede. Yesterday I went and did some light four wheelin. They slung mud all over the libby and was great on the rocky creek bed I got them in some sloppy mud just before going up an incline and they bit all the way through and climbed right up the hill. I did several inclines of various grades and had no trouble. I like them my brother in law told me that they are great in the sand and i probally wouldnt like them in the mud we get here in Oklahoma but they cleaned really well and handled the transitions from gravel to dirt really well. Do you have a lift? Thats the same size tires I'm wanting to get. I dont have a lift (yet) that is why I am asking the questions I am asking. I know I can do a 1/2" clevis lift plus lift 2 1/2" with out affecting cv angle. I was just wondering if anyone has attempted to build their own spacer lift. Yesterday i experienced all kinds of rubbing. The rear tires rubbed the top fenders and the in the front they rub at full lock on the front of the fender a little in the rear. I had to pound the pinch weld flat but the inner fender was easily cut with a box knife and a sledge hammer did the rest. spray painted the area for rust control. but my kj seems to be a little lower in the front than alot of the 02s running around town I am sure this is due to spring droop. Over all I am sastified with the purchase. I paid 695.00 for the Wheels, Tires, Center caps, lug nuts, mounted, balanced, valve stems and shipped to my door here in OK from National Tire & Wheel. |
