I have a service station down the street that has 89 octane no-ethanol gas for sale. With the higher octane and no ethanol would my fuel mileage go up appreciably? |

we had a no eth station when I lived in greenville nc, it ran pretty good - wouldn't say substantial but in my case the no eth was cheaper than the ethed |

My no ethanol station charges more. It is used a lot in boats because ethanol in the gas causes a lot of problems with outboard motors. |

I don't know if it's just the pure gasoline but I get 17/21.5mpg city/hwy. That's a little higher than it was rated for to begin with but, I also use nothing but high quality synthetic fluids in my KJ. |

Many-a-mechanic I've talked to have told me that ethanol destroys engines internally. Always use the non-ethanol if you can. The only non-ethanol stations we have around Seattle are for fleet vehicles / transportation trucks... ethanol is supposed to be better for the environment, but worse for your car. |

In my area, Columbia SC, the non ethyl gas typically cost .10 more a gallon. Of the stations that have non-ethyl gas, not all have regular non-ethyl. Some have mid grade and/or premium only. One time I tested mileage it seems that my mileage improved enough to warrant the .10 on the regukar gas. When using mid grade it was not worth it but I got some relief of mind on the gas going out the pipes. Fortunately one station in Columbia has all 3 and 24 hour pumps. You can find all of the stations in your area by go ing to http://pure-gas.org/ Be aware that not all stations listed may have that gas. I have found two such in Columbia. |

No ethanol free stations in Norfolk?? Aren't y'all near the coast with a lot of boats? I would think y'all should have plenty. |
