Just wondering if anyone knew of any major differences between the 231 in an 05 Libby vs an 05-06 TJ? Need a short shaft kit but nobody lists the Libby (Teraflex specificly) under applications. |

Comparing the Libby and XJ 231 cases I found them Identical on the outside, The 242 is a different story the Libby 242 Libby has a 32-spline rear output compared to the 27-Spline on a Grand/XJ case which is much smaller. I believe some of the SAS guys have done Slip Yoke kits on there 231's check out that section. |

They're Identical, the only difference i think there may be is the TJ's had the speedo sensor on the t-case? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. They did however make a 231HD that was in durangos & dakota, it had a thicker chain and some beefier components. Pretty common junkyard upgrade too! I don't know if there was a difference in the part your looking for though. I wish I had the 231 over the 242 |

yep thats it the TJs had the spedo sensor which is perfect cuz the Teraflex Extreme Short Shaft kit HAS a sensor so theres that problem one step closer to closure |
