I just a new fire extinguisher (2kg) and i am looking at where to mount it in my 2003 KJ CRD.

I would love to hear your ideas and see your pictures of where you have put yours.

Thanks
Steve

Ps , i live in Australia and my KJ is a right hand drive.

Gday Mate

Thanks for the photo, that was a spot i was looking at , but how the hell did you get the bracket secured to the car ? The plastic in my car looks to be all one piece and i have no idea how to get under it to attach some bolts or screws.

Let me know any tips or trick you may know.

it's not big deal at all! my extinguisher came with a mounting bracket. i put it where i wanted.. marked the holes with a black pen, removed the mount, drilled the holes with a 1/8in drill bit, put the mount back on the plastic, secured it to the plastic with very course threaded shallow screws bigger then 1/8in (just dont over tighten!!!!! course threaded screws will strip plastic very easy).

worst case is you do strip them.. that panel comes off very easily and you could just nut/bolt it to the plastic.

also in that location it will 'bounce' some on rough terrain.. causing a little bit of a noise when the plastic interior panel slaps against the metal under it. i just put some foam strips under there and it's quiet as a mouse now.

I keep mine under my rear seat. Quick access to any fires I come across.
