I was on Facebook, when a KJ friend posted this link on a lift kit for the Liberty. It looked to be promising, but thought it was really fishy that they did not post up on the website the spring rate on the springs. I just called their toll-free number to ask what the spring rate was. This is what the salesman told me, "Umm...I do not have the exact spring rate but it's very very close to stock."
I said, "Okay, thank you." Then hung up.
I'm still running the Daystar lift on my Liberty and it gets me where I need to go on the trail. In all honesty the best way to go is OME, Frankenlift or a DYI Frankenlift. Even though I do not own either lifts, I've seen them all in action and they work really well. This has probably been picked apart already, but it's a Saturday and I'm looking for a good discussion on here. :) To me it looks like new shock, stock springs, Daystar top plates and misc. parts.
On that note, it's time for me to start saving up for a new lift. Whether it be OEM, DYI Frankenlift or SFA swap. The ride in my Jeep is getting a tad bit rough.

Here's the link to the website and picture of the lift.

that kit looks just like the BDS kit. front is like 410 and the rear is 290ish if I'm recalling correctly. This is the kit I'll be using on my Libby.

BDS fronts are 435 lb

That kit that BW posted has been around for 10 years, not many run it as by the time you buy it, plus front shocks, and get better rear shocks you have the same price as OME etc
Not saving anything much.

BW I hope you set your KJ friend on course to a OME lift

I had no idea that had been around for 10 years.
Tom, rest assure anyone who owns a Liberty and asks about lift kits I tell them to buy OME. I have learned from the best Jeepers on here.
My Liberty has been a great vehicle. I like it so much, I may just buy another one when I get this one paid off. My dream Liberty would be a clean, lifted 2006 Renegade. 8)

I understand that all the fanboys buy ome. I always walked the other path. BDS is a Michigan Company paying Michigan people. I myself like to support local companies. If 1 person can post a valid reason NOT to purchase this kit I'd like to hear it.

WTH is a Fanboy anyways?
hear that word used and to me its one of the dumbest words there is
Don't think there are any "boys" on here

Plus BDS harder to install
Harder to get information out of them
Will not sell parts individually
rear shocks are or were pretty cheap

I understand all of the Buy Local and since they are right up the road it would be great
I gave up on them 5 or 6 years ago
and Yes I have helped install one of there lifts

OME works great,
you can buy just the springs/shocks by them selves
proven to work well over an extended period of time
Can get needed info quickly by contacting ARB in Washington state

I know none of those will be good enough to change your mind
but I use what works well,
not just what everyone else uses

People that research and listen to other folks that have been there and done that will buy an OME lift in what ever shock configuration you desire. Has nothing with being a "fan boy", it boils down to quality and what really does work well with our KJ's. I understand wanting to do your own thing or walk your own path but in this case doing so will cost you money and time. Supporting local companies is great but why buy junk just to support locals?
One valid reason NOT to buy that kit, poorly made springs that wear out fast. Not going to tear up the rest of the junk. Good luck. :JEEPIN:

alright... so upon further "shopping" for OME it's cheaper to go OME + Bilstein. Can't be right!
The newb was wrong again! LOL OK, so... OME + Bilsteins it will be.
Here's a question for you all in the know. What size Bilsteins work for the back, I know the stock size will work for the front.

Hey I resemble that remark  I lost my "jeep liberty lift install virginity" that day.
Nick, that battery was all Scott, we'll never forget that one or let him forget it :jester: .
