Is this a common problem with the Liberty? Mine is an 05 with the 3.7 and select trac. I use the 4wd on a regular basis but don't do any hard core off roading. mainly just for snow covered roads this time of year. Both front axle seals are leaking slightly, just wondering if I should fix it right away, or is it something that is common and I should just keep an eye on the fluid level. I am using amsoil 75-140 fluid.

When seals go bad stuff leaks. It's common to vehicles with fluids in them.

Which seals are leaking exactly if it is the front cover and it has never been off unusual but easy fix. If it is the tube seal or seals on te side then it isn't a difficult fix just a little complicated with everything that needs to be removed.

It's not leaking at the cover, it's on the shaft where the cv's slide in.

the seals are really easy to replace - just a bit time consuming breaking everything down to get the cv's out
