Slap While in Fulltime 4?

When I'm in fulltime 4wd, and going VERY slow, like in a parking lot, I experience 'slap', whenever I touch the gas. Or should I slay, 'slop'? In anycase, is this normal?

As far as I can tell this happens with all Jeeps that are in 4-wheel full time. My whole family owns Jeeps (all in all about 5) and every one of them experiences this occasionally. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

A: I thought it might be play in the transfer case.

B: I suspected it was normal, but wanted to make sure

I'll throw my weight in with the "yeah, it's normal crowd." Mine has done it since new.

With any four wheel drive system you're going to have extra driveline slack, and that goes doubly so for the fulltime mode in the NV242 (SelecTrac.)

When I first bought my jeep, It was awful in bumper to bumper traffic until I learn to be very, very light when taking off and letting off. The entire jeep would jump on, then jump when you let off. Its all good now.
