| Post subject: | Back to doing a lift. Opinions/Input? |
I have decided to go ahead and lift after all. I just can't deal with the lowrider stock look and also wanna put 245/75s on it. We don't really wheel for the sake of it we just drive lot's of rough and rocky USFS roads to get to backcountry spots for recreation (during the week it's my wife Bird's daily drive for work which involves lots of shorter trips and occasional longer commutes) so I think a spacer lift will work for us. I am trying to decide between these spacer kits and have listed them in the order I am considering them. Any ideas or input at all are appreciated (ie. which is better and why, other brands, anything at all really). #1 RRO Combo lift because it seems like quite a number of people have this and like it and think it performs well overall and it also seems like a good compromise on the front end. It's also the only 5 star rated spacer lift on Troy Young's KJ website which seems pretty knowledgeable and thorough (RRO is in the town where we live and Big O Tires will do it parts and Labor for 425). #2 Daystar full spacer lift because it seems like lots of people are using this and I haven't seen any complaints (the lift guy at Big O says he thinks it's better than the RRO Combo because it comes with more, ie. bushings, bump stops, boots and he has the same lift on his pickup and Grand Cherokee and likes it. 525 parts and labor) #3 Revtek spacer lift, originally my first choice a month or so ago because it's one of the first ones I heard about it's aluminum and installed by a local tire shop but then saw a few complaints about it (Les Schwab Tires will install parts and labor for 625 but I think I can get it done for less than that somewhere else). Les Schwab also sells and installs the Tuff Country brand of lifts if anyone is familiar with the KJ kit from them. #4 Billet Lift spacer lift because it's aluminum and sounds good on the website (not a lot of info. on this but have seen some posts from people that have it and checked the website). I would also like to know if I have to replace shocks with all spacer lifts or just specific ones? I'd prefer not to for the time being but will if necessary I guess. Thanks, Web |

I think you will be happy w/ either #1 or #2. I never had any problems w/ my Daystar but I sure Love the overall better ride of the Frankenlift. |
