I am thinking of saying screw the warranty and getting a Frankenlift anyway....but I have a question for ya all. Here goes. It has been said by many that putting the Frankenlift on improves the ride and gives less body roll, since the springs are stiffer than stock, right? Then does it reduce wheel articulation? I have heard that stiffer springs do not compres as well?? I am a little confused on this whole issue. I love the way my Jeep articulates stock, but would like the lift and less body roll. Let me know what ya all think, I have a feeling I am missing a vital piece of information.

It will articulate even better. There is more than enough weight from the Jeep to basically fully compress the springs when you have it cross axled. The longer shocks are what really give you more articulation in the rear, because the wheel can now droop much further.

In the front you will get a little more droop because of the top plate used on the front strut assembly. Not really that much more because there is only so much you can do with the geometry of the front suspension.

Well, think of it like this, when you are in a turn, the entire weight of the jeep is not on 2 wheels. Even though you are turning, alot of weight is still on the 2 tires outside of the curve. When you flex on the other hand, most weight goes to one back wheel, and the cross of that on the front wheel. Does that make sense? :)

I thought you already ordered the lift?

The way I think of warranty, the only thing they can tell you they wont replace is balljoints, and cv joints. Those do no cost ALOT of money, and when my balljoints do go bad, Im getting the moogs from AL anyway. Then when the new CV joints come out, Ill get those too. I would just keep alittle extra money somewhere just incase something does happen and you wont be in a tight spot. Thats the best idea I think.

The Frankenlift uses OME springs – OME’s claim to fame is that they make progressively wound springs – i.e. they go from softer to stiffer on the same spring,

They change the spacing on the coil - it allows the first part of the spring travel to be absorbed by the softer spring - then as the spring compresses you get to the stiffer portion. - it's a more expensive way to make springs, but it gets you a better ride.

Not to hijack this thread but just a tip for bullet. Just because you modify one part on your jeep that doesn't mean that the warranty is voided. The only part of the warranty you would void would be the parts you replace. I.e. if you upgrade the suspension it won't affect the coverage on the engine or the electronics. The catch 22 is you have to find a lift friendly dealership, otherwise the Service Manager could say this or that went wrong because of the lift. With that being said I was a service writer for a while for a Jeep dealership and we warrantied just about every thing that wasn't aftermarket. There was only one TJ that we were unable to fix because of his aftermarket warranty company. (on a side note DO NOT buy an aftermarket service contract. They will try and screw you anychance they get). Get the lift and don't worry about the warranty. Besides Libertys are trail rated right

That is what I have decided. Screw the warranty, wheel the KJ!! :twisted: I have been talking to the service guys at my local dealer and I think they are going to work with me as much as possible on these things. I figured out that if you befriend your service techs, they will get your back. :)
