SEMA KJ BLUE CAMO trim advice and lift

At the time when they built this for SEMA no one made a lift kit for it in 02 so it has a spacer stuffed in the strut and spacers above strut mounting plate .This thing bottoms out pretty good like hits the bumpstop hard in front so I was thinking of the skyjacker jir or rancho 3".I got 17x8 with 245/65 17 on it and it rubs .if any one can post some pics on the innerfender trim jobs that would be great

Frankenlift or Rusty's lift. Take the wheel wells out and your rubbing problems are solved.

Ive was wanting to get 245/65/17's, wonder why yours rubs? Where does it rub?

Is that a cool HAHA or a Beavis HAHA .I bought this kj about year ago with 1200 miles on it for 20K the paint job has a iridium clearcoat on it like cameleon sort of .Interior is carbon fiber leather by katskin also 12 pia lights on it .With the 100k warranty on it still.I'm kind of a person who is outside the box you could say.We get a lot of attention with this KJ and people stare and we forget about the paintjob and why people staring .As for the lift ,do your bottom out with the spring kits ? I work at an LIft kit shop and istall revtek spacers in struts every day which just think that these spacers ar preloading the struts a lot and we actually had a strut come apart on a vehicle after some time broke top of strut cylinder was a witch to take apart .So I think when I decide to buy the wife a new car I'll ake the liberty away and do a 7" Rockcrawler kit but for now I think maybe the skyjacker kit but Does anyone here have one on LOST?

Ok just a few things.
1. Please dont use vulgar language on the boards. This is a family style site and we would like to keep that language off this site.
2. RockKrawler 7-Up kit is crap. If you value your steering knuckles, or your KJ for that matter, dont get that kit.
3. I have bottomed out my KJ quite a few times, but thats because of my stupidity on the trail. If your asking about the suspension bottoming out, no it hasent after a year on my KJ.

Typical consensus is that the 7" rockcrawler kit is a show-only lift - no real offroading is possible as the IFS in the front is just too weak for it. SKyjacker kit looks nice, but IIRC, it's too much lift - the CV joint angle is pretty high and it wears out fast. The largest kits that don't destroy your CV are the rustys and frankenlift (and good news, they are cheaper than the skyjacker)

I would go with the frankin lift.

That was a "Thast kinda cool" HAHA. Ive seen that thing on here a couple of times and always wondered who bought it.

Ive never had my Ome lift bottom out, Ive not hit that many BIG bumps though.

Yeah, with a ride that stands out in a crowd like that, there's no point in doing a half job of lifting it, go for the best! Frankenlift.

<hijack>I'm running 245/65R17 Pirelli Scorpion A/Ts on my '03 Freedom (your Limited has the same wheel, just painted silver instead.) I put them on before I lifted and even after the lift they still rub a little in front at full lock and quite a bit in the rear when flexed out. The reason they rub is because our wheels are 7.5" wide instead of 7" wide like the 16" KJ wheels. I've also not done any trimming of the wheel well liners. The rubbing enough to bother me though, and like most people with lifts I'll be going up in tire size when I have the funds available.</hijack>

The wheels on fabtoys' KJ are 8" wide and he also has an "improper" lift, that's why his rub.

I may order some bumpstops from Quinn when I get the bigger tires to keep down rubbing in the back. Around here flex is very common.

if you plan to wheel it get a new lift, the ones suggested are good choices. Otherwise, where does it rub? At full turn, when flexing out, ect. ?

Most people rub on the front fender at full turn, simple trimming with a dremmel does the trick, or just know you have the rub.

Perhaps it's not the same in the US, but in my lexicon of swearing crap beats stupid every time. stupid being, of course, a hoofed mammal of the genus Equus and crap being the act of defecating.

As far as your truck goes fabtoys; I kinda like the paint job (probably looks better in real life) and the interior has a gimp-like coolness about it. But I'm not keen on the front bar and it needs better tyres and (as you're looking for) a lift.

Get it sorted and get some custom pinstriping on that fancy paint!

the paint job is sweet in the sun light .tire suck but my wife and I share this thing so in a while I'm going to get her something so I can put all sorts of cool crap on it
