it's actually REALLY easy to take the KJ doors off. the rear doors are crazy easy.
to remove the rear doors.
1.support leave the rear door closed, open the front door
2. pop rubber wire cover out of the jeep door jam
3. unplug wires
4. remove the 4 large nuts holding the door to the door hinge (that bolts to the jeep)
5. the studs coming out of the door will hold it in the hinge... just open the door with the door handle and remove the door
to reinstall...
1. put the door studs (that go into the hinge) into the hinge with the door open about 45 degrees
2. once the studs are in the hinges... just close and latch the door
3. put nuts back on studs
4. reconnect wires.
you can use this method for both back doors. The front door comes on/off the same way only you'll have to use a ratchet wrench and support the door with a jack stand with it open about 45 degrees (cant get to the nuts holding the door to the hinges with the door closed unless the fender is off).
if you want it to look 'cleaner' when you get the doors off you can take the hinges off the jeep body. however mark them well with a dot on each cover of the hinge with a sharpie marker so you wont have problems with door fitment when you reinstall.
if you dont take the hinges off the jeep body you will have zero problems fitting the doors when you reinstall. they will fit just like they did when you took them off (unless your wheeling your jeep VERY hard with a lot of rocks/offcamber stuff. if you twist the body the doors wont line up when you reinstall).
i took mine off and put them on (and hung them in the booth) completely by my self. it's only a door.. you can out smart it
