My 2005 liberty with 3.7l wont start. There is power to the starter as far as I can tell. Accessories turn on, starter clicks repeatedly and sounds strong. Where do I go from here? I plan to check the fuses but beyond that Im at a bit of a loss. :furious: :banghead:

So I tried to turn the motor manually to see if it was seized. It turned fine. Tried to start it afterwards and it started right up. Weird but good I guess. If the starter was starting to go could it have caused this? It was cranking and power seemed to be going everywhere.

Your starter is going.... Get it fixed rebuilt or replaced new before it leaves you somewhere. I got one from the Dealer here in Canada for 129.99$ That was a super good deal tho.

An update. I tested the voltage on the battery but it was good. Just to be sure I took it to autozone and had then test it properly. Bad battery. I gout it from walmart about a year ago and it was still way within the 3 year warranty so they tested it again(failed again) and replaced it for free. No issues since.

Yep, a dead battery or weak battery will cause a no start. From your initial post, you made it sound like you had good juice. I'm glad to hear that you're back on the road without having to fork out money. Next time don't buy Wal-Mart!
