Two Questions:

Edit: (3 questions)

1. The top of the balljoint has what my fingers (cant see it) say is a 1\4 icnh of room between the arm and its base, normal or is it unseated? To look at the angle of the post itself seems a bit off (alot off?), probably done.

2. Can I jack the body up and stick a 4x4 in there press it in with the weight of the jeep and tighten her down?

3. Can it be welded in place???

Since it's most likely busted, factory arm with all bushings and ball joint is probably best I am sure.

I just replaced my ball joint in the rear and there is only one way for it to go in. The balljoint is depressed in the middle and if not seated the whole way the bolt will not fit in.

Hmmm, so maybe I jack the truck up by my trailer hitch? Will that allow me to seat it?

I bumped mine with a sledge hammer(with block of wood on top) to seat it.

Resolution:

Did what my mechanic should have done and spent 5 minutes looking at the rear of the jeep. Drivers side bushing on the rear upper arm is MANGLED. Problem found. Now to snatch me up a new one. No more pressing of replacements in that sucker.
