Hey all, I realize I haven't been active on here in a while and hopefully not too much has changed. I guess moving twice and getting 2 new jobs changes your priorities around a bit. The good news is; around a week or so from now I'll be an official member of the ARB club and as much a fan as I have been about Warn winches I'm looking hard at the smittybilt XRC-10. I'm just curious what some of you guys think, any experiences, advice etc. Having just bought the bumper my budget is probably not what I would like it to be but I'd still rather have it done right the first time. Thanks guys!

I just bought a XRC-8 with the synthetic cable and so far have not had any issues with it. A Warn would be nice but for the wheeling I do the one I bought will be just fine. It is loud though.

The XRC-8 is the 8,000lb one correct? Have you found it to be strong enough? Or do you feel the 10,000lb would really be enough of a difference for the $100+ extra bucks they cost? I'm leaning strongly toward the Smidtybilt just because their 300-400 $$ cheaper, I just don't want to regret it when I'm in the middle of no where and need it.

So i went ahead and bought the XRC-8, the guy from Rocky Road told me the XRC-10 might not fit anyway (not quite sure on that one). But I think maybe we should have a winch FAQ? Or a least a sticky with reviews and personal experience...anyone else think that might be a good idea?

i have an xrc 10 in my ARB. has been a great winch. always works (unless you plug the winch control in upside down. watch out that can happen)
